INTRODUCTION

The Freight Forwarders' Association of Madrid,Organization for the Logistics and Transport ATEIA-OLT, was founded in 1977 by Freight Forwarders of the region in order to defend their common interests.

The legal, operative, and managerial changes occurred to this sector in the last years have encouraged us to make our association acknowledged, as it deserves, by the different administrations and state institutions, therefore, nowadays, we are an essential instrument in order to develop our commercial activity in the most favourable way.

ATEIA-OLT MADRID is integrated with FETEIA and also with CLECAT ( European Federation of Freight forwarding Agents), FIATA (Worldwide Federation of Freight forwarding Agents) and CEOE (Spanish Employers' Confederation Public Works) so we take part in the meetings of these companies, where essential subjects for the sake of our activities are discussed .

There are 130 members agents in Madrid and we aim to spread the figure of the Freight Forwarders and our important role in the development of the foreign trade; at the same time, we fight so that the intruders of the sector, disloyal competition and the lack of legality of some companies don't tarnish the widespread prestige and honesty of our firms.

We invite you to integrate with the Association and take part in the services we offer to our members, such as:

• Technical and legal advice of communitarian rules and foreign trade.
• Accurate information about legislation, managerial meetings, trading fairs, subsidies programmes, etc.
• ATEIA-OLT finds out those subsidies programmes for which our associates can apply and takes the necessary steps to obtain the collective programmes, offering training plans of several companies to FORCEM, etc.
  
• ATEIA-OLT acts on behalf of the companies in the sector in the trade unions (CC.OO-UGT) talks about collective agreements.
  
• Basic training programmes for beginners and specific ones to retrain personnel, we also organise seminaries, informative conferences and courses accepted by the International Administrations and Organizations (IATA).
  
• ATEIA-OLT carries out economic surveys of activities and costs in the sector, which are very useful for the members-enterprises in order to compare their situation to the ratio of the market and to establish their own price policies.
  
• Securing Quality Systems, we provide our members-enterprises with a Standard Manual and a Pedagogic Guide on Quality Management according to ISO 9002 Norm so that they can obtain the Management Certificate.
  
• Civil Liability Insurance, we support and negotiate guarantees with credit societies so that our members-enterprises can carry out their activities.
  
• FIATA documentation ( FBL, FCT FCR, FWR, SDT) is at our disposal.
  
• We are able to obtain CMR and AWB documentation at low prices
  
• Thanks to the Association, our members benefit from collective guarantees and collaboration agreements with banks and credit societies to obtain financial products at a low price.
  
• We also have a national system, accepted by the Competence Defence Court, to control the defaulters of our enterprises.
  
• ATEIA has its own head office where our associates can celebrate any kind of event.
